BDO Municipal Salary Comparison
Local authorities and towns compete for skilled workers, but are rarely aware of their own position within the public sector pay structure. Since 2005, BDO has been providing precisely this transparency across the whole of German-speaking Switzerland through its salary comparison for local authorities and towns. Renuo manages the technical aspects of the study: implementation, hosting and further development.

A survey of 250 municipalities
Around 250 municipalities and towns report their salaries via the platform, covering just over 30 specialist and management roles across up to four levels of responsibility. This means that over 8,000 salary entries are included in each survey.
Tailor-made analysis
Participating local authorities receive the standard report free of charge; for more in-depth analyses, the data can be further filtered by canton, size of local authority, gender, age group or level of education. The results are incorporated directly into the participating local authorities’ pay decisions.
Software beyond code
A salary comparison relies on the quality of the data, not on the design of the interface. Renuo ensures that the survey runs reliably behind the scenes, year after year, for a survey that has been in existence for over 20 years.
