We are an engineering firm for software. We develop web-based software and specialize in complex portals and platforms. Our focus is always on quality and security. We work with LLMs, but also ensure quality of the result, by having a deep understanding of the concepts. 100% line and branch coverage is the norm for our projects.
Thanks to our location in Wallisellen near Zurich, we maintain short communication channels with our customers. Close collaboration is a must.
We are young, well-educated, and our know-how includes the latest web technologies and systems. In today's world, dominated by the AI topic, it is important for us to stay up-to-date and constantly educate ourselves. We do not develop off-the-shelf solutions but consider each project as something unique. That's why our projects are as unique as our customers.
To support our team, we are looking for you as a Software Engineer.

Your Task

As a software engineer at Renuo, you develop new features and keep our applications fast, secure, and reliable. Depending on your interests and skills, you work more in the frontend with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, or more in the backend, where our main technology is Ruby on Rails.
This means specifically:
  • Software engineering with web technologies
  • Requirements gathering, technical support, and customer consultation
  • Database design
We are not after heroic deeds or night shifts: this is a job with 42 hours per week (or less if you want).

Our Expectations

  • We are looking for candidates with (at least) a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.), preferably but not limited to software, electronics, math or physics.
  • You must have experience with the building blocks of web development. Our stack is HTML, CSS, JavaScript (Stimulus), Ruby on Rails, SQL (Postgres), Deploio. You should know Ruby on Rails.
  • You are comfortable working with LLMs to get things done and write code for you. Your focus is the engineering of the solutions, not manually writing the code for it. If you are skeptical about AI, you will not be comfortable at Renuo.
If you are missing something, that's no problem. We will teach you! We care more about your willingness to learn than how you got here.
This is not a remote job. You must live in Switzerland and spend more than half your time working in the office.
As a software agency with a strong customer focus, proficiency in (Swiss) German is a clear advantage.

Depending on your experience, you can expect a salary between CHF 84,000 (Junior) and CHF 108,000 (Senior).
