The internationally renowned Germann auction house holds auctions for significant artwork and posters at least twice a year - Art enthusiasts from all over the world have their eyes on Zürich.
Accordingly high are the requirements of the application: the platform with all the artwork has to be performant, the website error-free and the usability enormously high. There is no second chance to make a first impression.
«Renuo hat uns bei allen wichtigen Schritten wie Planung, Konzeption, Design und Content professionell begleitet und unsere Ideen effizient umgesetzt. Das Resultat begeistert, nicht zuletzt dank hervorragender Zusammenarbeit, direkter Kommunikation und grosser Zuverlässigkeit.»
Through an admin panel the auction house can import a file containing all the auction data. The detail pages as well as the grouping by artist are created automatically.
Using a translation algorithm specially developed for the auction house, the descriptions of the objects can be translated semi automatically. The system makes suggestions based on previous translations, which can be checked and adjusted if necessary.
The images of the items are uploaded via a batch upload and automatically assigned to the correct artwork. In order to optimise performance, these are stored on a specially set up asset server.
The platform is connected to several other art portals, so that the artwork can be also be represented on overarching auction platforms. The data exchange with the corresponding partners happens either automatically or at the push of a button.
For quick – and most of all independent – editing of the static content such as the «About us» or the «Legal notice», the auction house has an inline editor at their disposal.
The websites design was created in collaboration with our partner Henry Gillis.
